I love Austin and want to show some of the places that make Austin an amazing city. I have chosen some of my favorite locations by putting them in the “beat-the-heat” order. Heat order is my way of saying go inside and see the air conditioned places first and then when we go back down in temperature below a 100 degrees visit the outside destinations. One of my all time favorites is the Harry Ransom Center on the UT Campus. It has the first photograph, a Gutenberg Bible and most importantly a welcoming spirit by the museum staff. The etched glass panes on the outside of the building alone are worth the trip. Current exhibit is Frank Reaugh: Landscapes of Texas and the American West. A true Texas treat! http://www.hrc.utexas.edu/exhibitions/
